Welcome to the Midwestern State University Student Wellness Center. Your 51,000 square foot facility was built in the summer of 2009 and is complete with the best equipment available on the market (CYBEX and TRUE). We have more than 75 pieces of free weights and machines and 50 different pieces of cardiovascular equipment each having an entertainment monitor (television). In addition, there is an indoor track, outdoor aquatics area, fully equipped gymnasium, and state-of-the-art group fitness rooms.


Access to the Student Wellness Center is complimentary for currently enrolled students and university employees with a valid MSU ID card. Students and employees may bring a guest for $5/day.

Membership fees for Alumni Association members, President’s Excellence Circle (PEC) members, domestic partners of students, employees or Alumni/PEC members, and other categories can be found by clicking on the Wellness Center Fees link below.

*Effective December 1, 2016 all $5 daily guest passes must be purchased with exact change*

Fitness Center Schedule

Towel Service

Towels are currently offered free of charge to any patron of the Student Wellness Center.

*Effective April 1st, 2017 – Patrons must leave their MSU ID Card at the front desk to check out a towel. Patrons will receive their card back upon returning their towel*

Patrons with a guest pass may use a towel by leaving their driver’s license.

A maximum of 2 towels per patron.

If a patron does not return his/her towel, his/her card will be held by the staff until the towel is returned or a $1 fee is paid (cash only) to the MSU Wellness Center. To pick up previously held card, please see staff in the administration offices Monday - Friday between the hours of 8 AM – 5 PM.

Locker Service

Lockers are available for daily use free of charge to any patron of the Student Wellness Center.  The Recreational Sports Department does not provide locks for lockers; patrons must bring their own personal locks for lockers.

Any lock remaining on a locker after closing hours each day will be removed and the staff will hold contents until pick up.

Open cubbies are available for patron use free of charge as well.

The MSU Recreational Sports Department and the Bruce & Graciela Redwine Student Wellness Center is not liable for any lost or stolen property

Lost and Found

Lost and found items are held at the front desk of the Student Wellness Center. In order for a patron to pick up a lost item, he/she must show matching proof of ID when retrieving.

Any valuable item will be locked away in the administrative office daily until retrieval.

All lost and found items will be donated after 14 days.

Mountain Bike Rentals

The MSU Wellness Center currently has mountain bike rentals free of charge to MSU students, faculty, and staff.  Mountain bike rentals are good for a two week period and an appointment must be set up to pick up your bike. Bikes are often checked out, so please contact us a week prior to the day you would like to check out your bike.
