Why attend early orientation? In addition to the information sessions and opportunities to get to know other students, those participating in early orientation are eligible to register for classes early. There are six Early Orientation sessions from which to choose; click here for details.

Before choosing your orientation session, make sure you know your status with the following MSU requirements.

Getting Started Checklist:

  • Have you been accepted to the university?
  • Have you received your Meningitis Immunization?
  • Have you taken the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Test?

The answer to these questions must be yes, in order to register for classes. Need more information on these eligibility criteria? Visit our Frequently Asked Questions page.

Are you a distance education student? Students accepted for online only programs should complete the Distance Education Orientation process; click here for Distance Education Orientation.

"I loved early orientation and would recommend it for every student entering MSU. I had so much fun - and learned a lot about MSU and what they offer for their students. I even met a friend and we decided to be roomies...she's awesome and we both cannot wait!"
