Vice President, Student Affairs and Enrollment Management
The Vice President is the chief student affairs and enrollment management officer for the University. The Vice President is directly responsible to the President for the planning and administration of comprehensive student affairs and enrollment management programs, which are compatible with the philosophy and objectives of the University. Areas of responsibility include the offices of the Dean of Students, Student Government Association, Admissions, Financial Aid, Career Management Center and Testing Services, Vinson Health Center, Disability Support Services, Counseling Center, Recreational Sports, the Bruce and Graciela Redwine Student Wellness Center, University Police, International Services, Clark Student Center, Housing and Dining Services, Bookstore, Postal Services, Student Development and Orientation, Multicultural Services, and Greek Life. Reports to the university President.
Recommends policy and procedures to the President. Serves on various councils and committees. Works with division deans and directors to develop short and long-range strategic planning, and to develop fiscally responsible budgets. Works to ensure that the University has a viable strategic enrollment plan, addressing both recruitment and retention. Works to ensure that student service functions meet the needs of the student body, and are consistent with identified best practices. Performs other duties as assigned by the President.
Physical Condition:
At least ten years of progressively responsible experience in student affairs, preferably in a university setting. Demonstrated successful collaboration with areas outside of student affairs.
Knowledge of student affairs functions to include student development theory, leadership development theory, student judicial programs, academic support functions, budget management, auxiliary budget management, and strategic planning.
Master's degree required. Earned doctorate strongly preferred.
Additional Requirements:
Must have exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate, both written and oral, with various audiences. Must understand technology as related to communicating with students. Serves as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act. *This position is designated as security sensitive (high) and requires a criminal background check.
