Coordinator, Student Center Programs
Serves as a professional team member of the student center staff. Responsible for organizing, staffing, and supervising student programs in the Clark Student Center. Coordinates, and develops recreational programs as well as weekend programs for the students. Reports to the Director of the Clark Student Center.
Hires, trains, and supervises student employees as recreation center assistants. Assigns work priorities, monitors performance and schedules work times for student assistants. Assists in the training and development of Clark Student Center student workers, with direct training and development responsibilities for the recreation center student employees. Works closely with the Director of Recreational Sports on co-sponsored recreational tournaments in the student center. Organizes local qualifying tournaments for the Association of College Unions International (ACUI). Arranges use of off campus facilities for the recreation center programs that cannot be housed in the student center. Assists with the supervision of student assistants. Assists with the development and coordination of the Weekends at MSU Program, coordinates recreation center wellness education programs. Assists with implementation of Student Success Series, develops assessment instruments to survey student customers. Develops monthly and annual reports. Performs other duties as assigns. Reports to the Director of the Clark Student Center.
Physical Condition:
Prefer three to five years experience in college union programs. Previous involvement in student employee supervision, organizational management, counseling, and student programs.
Knowledge of student development theory and general recreation tournament structure. Must possess counseling skills for a wide range of student concerns. Requires basic office management skills. Must be knowledgeable in the use of computers and commonly used office software programs, such as World, Excel and Outlook.
Bachelor's degree required. Master's level enrollment in student personnel program or counseling, preferred.

The ability to manage people and resources; ability to teach, direct, guide and evaluate student employees. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to manage a variety of tasks. Must have the ability to work well with a diverse population, college students, faculty, staff, and the public. Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *This position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check.
