Associate Director, Athletics/Development
Responsible for overseeing Athletic Marketing and Promotions as well as all private and corporate development as it relates to the Athletic program. Works closely with the Director of Athletics as well as the administrative staff within the guidelines of the NCAA, the Lone Star Conference and Midwestern State University. Reports to the Director of Athletics.
Oversee annual fundraising; perform public relations and other related activities with faculty, students, contributors, alumni and University administrators. Represent the Director of Athletics on all promotion, marketing and fundraising projects. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Preferably 5 years of business or university related experience. Must have experience in corporate business or collegiate fundraising and a demonstrated record of success. Familiarity and understanding of the university community or Midwestern State's constituency is highly preferred.
Must have advanced knowledge of fundraising, marketing, and promotional activities. Knowledge of state and federal laws regulating charitable giving. Preference for knowledge of athletic administration as well as the rules and regulations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Should also have general knowledge of standard office practices and procedures and computer skills.
Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred in related field.
Must have effective written and oral communication skills. Must have good social skills and be a positive representative of the University and its Athletic program. Must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Serves as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *This position is designated as security sensitive and requires a criminal background check.
