Computer-Based Test Center Specialist
The Computer-Based Test Center Specialist works with the Associate Director to provide leadership and direction for the testing office and its activities. Works collaboratively within the university and the community to enhance testing services. Responsible for supervision and administration of testing in the CLEP/Web CT lab, correspondence exams, GED, VUE/ACT labs, paper-pencil exams, MAT, and other exams which may not be listed but are administered within the Testing Center office. Responsible for training staff. Assists the Associate Director in maintaining the professional standards and guidelines of the National Collegiate Testing Association. Reports to the Director of the Career Management Center and Testing Services and is supervised by the Associate Director of the Career Management Center and Testing Services.
Interacts and maintains liaison with students, faculty, staff, administration and outside agencies to facilitate effectiveness of testing programs. Promptly responds to requests for information. Accurately compiles requested data and corresponding reports in a timely manner. Assists university faculty, staff and administration in devising, updating, and implementing testing programs including, but not limited to, placement testing, College Level Examination Program, and credit-by-examination. Maintains records and documentation related to testing. Trains and supervises student workers and new office employees. Serves as a resource for faculty, staff, and students. Acts as a liaison with national testing companies for tests administered within the office. Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Condition
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
Requires demonstrated experience working with paper-based and/or computer-based test administrations and office management experience.
Knowledge of computer-based test administration; basic knowledge of computer networking terminology. Requires excellent oral and written communications skills; strong computer usage skill set including the Web and Microsoft office systems. Must have knowledge of standard office practices and procedures.
Bachelor's degree, preferred.
