Serves as the central coordinator for all areas of the Midwestern State University website. Works closely with technical staff and coordinates the work of administrators, faculty and students in developing and maintaining a consistent quality of the University's web presence. Responsible for positioning and marketing Midwestern State University via the Internet and other electronic resources and coordinates all social media for the University. Reports to the Director of Marketing and Public Information.
Provides management and direction for MSU's web presence. Implements and maintains an approved set of policies and procedures relating to web format, content, accessibility, and use; and develops integrated marketing strategies in consultation with administrative unit site-masters. Trains and assists site-masters in maintaining a unified image of the University. Establishes and monitors social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) ensuring a positive image for departments and offices. Ensures compliance with governing agencies, including disability accommodation. Coordinates analysis of web statistics as a means to evaluate site logistical and technical problems; administers budget and staff necessary for Internet support operations; and maintains a high-level of knowledge of technologies, capabilities, and strategies for the web. Works with outside agency resources when necessary and appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Condition
Must have experience in project management, to include the ability to set goals and establish timelines. Requires experience in creating and redesigning websites; knowledge and use of web authoring tools and HTML.
Must have the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain and administer the NT/2000 operating system and web server. Programming knowledge should include HTML by hand, JavaScript, VBScript, and Adobe products such as Photoshop or Illustrator. Must have expertise in internet marketing through social media, internet advertising, and email newsletter marketing.
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, graphic design, computer science or related area required.

Must have exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of people. Must also be creative and have the ability to take the rough concepts and ideas of faculty and staff and turn them into finished projects. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *This position is designated as security sensitive (high) and requires a criminal background check.
