Assistant to President
Provides secretarial, administrative, and logistical support for all members of the University President's Office staff. Work involves planning, organizing, and performing a variety of complex technical, clerical, and administrative duties. Responsible for the coordination of the day-to-day operation of the University President's Office. Works under the general supervision of the Executive Assistant to the President with latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
Handles routine and confidential correspondence. Schedules appointments, screens visitors, maintains files, fiscal records, and restricted information. Performs specialized tasks requiring a high level of skill in typing and computer operation. Responsible for financial management of several university accounts and maintains records on these accounts. Works with the President's Excellence Circle to include maintaining membership records, coordinating brochures and mailings, and communicating with donors as needed.
Physical Condition
Should have considerable progressively responsible experience in general office practices and procedures, including some administrative work. Skilled use of PC (specifically Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel is necessary) and other office equipment.
Working knowledge of business English, spelling, and punctuation. Thorough knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment. Ability to type and maintain files.
Prefer Bachelor's degree; however, high school graduation with heavy experience in the specific job areas may be substituted..
