Out-Of-State Complaint Resolution

Complaints should be filed in the state where the student is receiving instruction, not in the state in which the student resides. For example, a student residing in Missouri but taking courses in Texas should file his/her compliant with the state contact for Texas.

Students are encouraged to discuss complaints or concerns with appropriate university personnel before taking further action. Once informal discussion has been exhausted, a formal due process is available.  It is the policy of Midwestern State University to receive, process, and resolve student grievances, including allegations of discrimination, harassment, and grade appeals, in a fair, equitable, and prompt manner, with appropriate safeguards for the student filing the grievance. General Complaint procedures are outlined on page 70 of the MSU Student Handbook and Activities Calendar, which is revised yearly and distributed to every student. If an issue cannot be resolved internally, a complaint can be filed with the agency below.
