Affiliated Foundations

In addition to accepting gifts directly, MSU is supported by two affiliated foundations, the Midwestern State University Foundation and the MSU Charitable Trust.

If you have questions about the best way to direct your gift to support the university, contact the Office of Advancement and Public Affairs at (940) 397-4782.

Give by Electronic Funds Transfer

Support MSU without writing a check. Through Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), you can make a one-time gift or spread the cost of your support throughout the year by authorizing your bank to transfer to MSU an amount you set. All personal information will be held in the strictest confidence.

To set up your payment plan, contact Patricia Lowry, Coordinator of Donor Data and Research, at (940) 397-4236 or patricia.lowry@mwsu.edu to request an EFT form.

Make a Matching Gift

Check here to see if your employer (or your spouse’s employer) has a matching gift program and increase the size of your gift by double or even triple simply by notifying your employer of your gift. If requested, the Midwestern State University Foundation Employer Identification Number (EIN) is 75-1101337.

Give Securities

Making a gift of securities to MSU makes it possible to help the university while realizing important tax benefits for yourself. With careful planning, you can reduce or even avoid federal capital gains tax. MSU’s Office of Gift Planning can show you how a gift of securities may be more beneficial than writing a check. Call (940) 397-4728 and speak to Rhonda McClung, Assistant Vice President of Planned Giving to discuss giving options or visit Planned Giving.

When the transaction is complete, please notify Laura Peterson, Assistant Director of University Development for Donor Services and Scholarships, at (940) 397-4919 or laura.peterson@mwsu.edu to insure that your gift is credited correctly.

Give Through Your Estate or other Planned Gifts

You can invest in MSU by including the university in your will, naming MSU the beneficiary of life insurance or retirement plans or leaving gifts of real assets. Life income gifts are also an option and can provide for you and your family, create tax benefits and leave an important legacy at MSU. Call Rhonda McClung, Assistant Vice President of Gift Planning at 940-397-4728 to discuss opportunities or visit Planned Giving.

For MSU Employees

Payroll deduction is one of the easiest, fastest, and most convenient ways for MSU employees to make a gift. Complete the Payroll Deduction Form, specify the amount you would like automatically deducted from each paycheck and designated the area you wish to support. Return the completed form to the Annual Fund Office in person or by campus mail.

Give by Donor-Advised Fund

Recommending a gift to support MSU through your donor advised fund (DAF) is simple. You can donate directly to Midwestern State University by providing the following information to the sponsoring organization of your fund. Complete the appropriate forms of your organization.
