The physics program at MSU offers students the best of both worlds – the community feeling of a small program and the opportunity to take advanced electives from faculty through the Texas Physics Consortium. It is our goal to prepare students for their future endeavors, whether they plan to continue their education at the graduate level or enter the workforce upon graduation.

Physicists study and explain the way the natural world works. An education in physics lays a broad foundation for studying other fields of science and engineering, as well as preparing students for advanced study in more specialized fields such as nuclear physics, medical physics, solid state physics, and astrophysics.
