The possibility exists within the Humanities major or minor for a student to earn three hours of advanced Humanities credit by completing a one-semester student internship at Kell House Museum. Students interested in completing the internship must be Humanities majors or minors in good standing at the time they apply and must be recommended by the Humanities advisor. Once the applicant has been accepted by the director/curator of Kell House, the Humanities advisor arranges for the student to work 10 hours a week for 14 weeks at Kell House Museum under the direct supervision of the Kell House director/curator. The student receives training in a wide range or activities closely related to the management and operation of a museum, thereby helping the student prepare for a possible career in museum work. The student keeps a journal of the daily tasks assigned and writes an evaluative report at the end of the semester describing the experience.

Students interested in completing a Humanities internship should talk with the Humanities advisor.
