BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY (BSRT) (120 semester hours)
The Radiologic Sciences entry-level BSRT Program prepares students for careers as radiographers using a combination of face-to-face classroom and distance education online courses (see the degree plan to find which courses are designated "o" for online). Upon completion of all program requirements, students are prepared to take the national certification examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Additionally, graduates may be eligible for certification by the state of Texas as Medical Radiologic Technologists. The BS Program in Radiologic Technology is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). The mission of the BSRT program is to provide students with both the academic and technical foundations to competently and safely perform imaging procedures, to prepare qualified imaging technologists who will ethically respond to the needs of patients with technical competence and compassion, and to assume a vital professional role as a medical team member.
