Redwine Honors Program Requirements

The Redwine Honors Program has short, mid, and long term requirements in place to provide an academically and personally challenging home for gifted students. To graduate from the Redwine Honors Program students must complete the following:

  • Enroll in 15 credit hours each semester and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25.
  • Take MWSU 1333 Leadership MSU in their first semester.
  • Each semester, submit an activity form. Students need to acquire at least 25 points each semester, in addition to attending one RED Talk per semester. Points may be acquired through attending activities in the following five groups: Fine Art, Athletic, Multicultural, Lecture, and Honors, or any combination of activities with a maximum of 3 per category.
  • Complete at least one Honors course per semester with a C or better.
    • Students should consider enrolling in more than one class, and are encouraged to do so, because classes can be banked for use in later semesters when scheduling conflicts arise.
  • Each year, participate in at least one Honors volunteer event until three have been accrued.
  • Complete a research methods course and at least one upper-level Honors course.
  • Before graduation, attend two field trips or conferences. Additionally, complete one of the following activities: a research project, an internship, or a study abroad program.
