Public Relations Campaign


The Public Relations Campaigns course gives students the opportunity to apply everything they have learned from Public Relations Principles, Public Relations Writing, and other mass communication courses to a real-world project by working with a local non-profit organization.

After conducting research and identifying the organization’s public relations needs, students plan, develop and implement a short-term Public Relations campaign.  It’s a win-win project:  Students get verifiable public relations experience prior to graduating while the organization gets help with its public relations efforts.

Some of the projects students have developed are:

  • “It’s a Small World,” a fundraising proposal for the North Texas Youth Connection
  • “Lights, Camera, Dinner . . . ,” a reception/film screening/awards dinner event for the MSU Mass Communication Department
  • “The Wild Bird Classic,” a golf tournament fundraising proposal for Wild Bird Rescue, Inc.
