Associate Director, Financial Aid
The Associate Director of Financial Aid assists the Director in coordinating and supervising the day-to-day operations of the Financial Aid Office; developing office policies and procedures; and insuring that all applicable state and federal laws regulating financial aid are being followed. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director.
Assists the Director in program assessment and planning, budget preparation, need analysis, and financial aid packaging. Serves as a resource person on financial aid programs for students, faculty and staff. Makes financial aid presentations as needed. Counsels individual students. Also assists in the preparation of federal, state and internal reports as requested by the Associate Provost or other senior administrative staff.
Three to five years experience in college or university student financial aid, with previous managerial or supervisory experience preferred.
Must have an advanced knowledge of state and federal financial aid programs to include grants, loans, scholarships, and work study. Must be knowledgeable in the use of personal computers as well as commonly used office software programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Should also have good knowledge of standard office practices and procedures, budgeting, recordkeeping, and personnel management.
Graduation from high school or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Must be able to exercise sound judgment in difficult situations; have excellent interpersonal skills; be well organized; and be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally. Must be service oriented. *Regular reliable attendance is required.
