Title: Employer Relations Coordinator
Description: Provides leadership and management to promote and grow an employer relations program that provides employment opportunities for undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni. Reports to the Director of the Career Management Center and Testing Services.
Examples: Manages the Career Management Center (CMC) recruiting program including coordinating on-campus recruiting and college career fairs; maintaining career management software; and enhancing the employer services. Leads the CMC job development efforts for full time, part-time, and internship opportunities. Provides strategic direction to expand and diversify employer participation in the CMC recruiting program. Conducts on-site employer development activities with organizations and industries. Develops and implements creative programs for increasing visibility of students to employers. Assists employers in understanding MSU student demographics, curriculum, and majors to enhance the employer experience with recruitment and hiring of MSU students. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Condition:
Experience: Experience in career services or employer relations desired; including, knowledge of job development services and building working relationships with business, industry, students, alumni and university personnel. Requires strong public speaking skills and presentation development experience.
Knowledge: Proven ability to apply current technology in career management and industry relations. Knowledge of marketing and promotions, database management, program evaluation, and labor market trends.
Education: Bachelorís degree required; Masterís, preferred.
Additional Requirements: Must be team orientated; possess outstanding skills in organization, leadership, professionalism, interpersonal, and oral and written communication. Must be able to set priorities and objectives, and conduct long-range planning. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *Some travel required. *This position is designated as security sensitive and requires a criminal background check.
