BSN Nurse Educator
Reports to the Director of Regional Simulation Center. Provides competency education and validation for MSU and Vernon College students and United Regional Health Care System clinical staff.
Demonstrates identified cognitive and psychomotor skills to individuals and groups using performance standards established for the regional simulation center. Coaches individuals and groups to perform identified cognitive and psychomotor skills in a variety of clinical scenarios. Validates competencies of identified cognitive and psychomotor skills of students and staff. Counsels students and staff regarding performance. Communicates with faculty and staff managers as necessary regarding competencies.
Current licensure in the State of Texas required. Formal or informal teaching experience desirable.
Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Strong clinical skills required. Must be able to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders and deal effectively with ambiguous situations. Upon employment, must participate in the online Preceptor program offered by Midwestern State University and in four nursing education courses offered by the MSU master's program. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *This position is designated as security sensitive and requires a criminal background check.
