Title: Clinical Coordinator
Description: The Clinical Coordinator provides support to the faculty of the Wilson School of Nursing through the establishment and maintenance of clinical affiliation agreements, monitoring of student compliance with immunization and licensing requirements, and communication regarding clinical placements.
Examples: Under the direction of the appropriate program coordinator, initiates and maintains clinical contracts; monitors contract requirements for students and faculty; collaborates with the clinical agencies; receives preceptor agreements from new preceptors of undergraduate and graduate students, verifying current clinical affiliation agreements exist with the preceptorsí agencies. Receives studentsí documents regarding CPR certification, health insurance coverage, and physical exam verifications. Coordinates immunization surveillance with Vinson Health Center; verifies Texas nursing licensure of RN to BSN, RN to MSN, and graduate students; and apprises faculty of the status of student compliance issues. Maintains student data base in Access and queries data base in preparation for various reports. Prepares correspondence.
Physical Condition: Sufficient dexterity, agility, and physical condition to perform routine office tasks, including sitting for long periods of time.
Experience: Requires two Ė three years responsible experience in Access data base management. Familiarity with health care systems and terminology, helpful.
Knowledge: Proficient in the use of computer applications including Microsoft Word, Access, Outlook, Power Point, and Excel. Requires expertise in Access data base management. Knowledge of general office practices, procedures, and equipment.
Education: High school graduation with some college level courses.
Additional Requirements: Outstanding interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills, and superior computer skills. Attentive to details; self-motivated; and able to handle multiple priorities effectively. Must maintain strict confidentiality. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *This position is designated as security sensitive and requires a criminal background check.
