International Studies

Midwestern State University offers a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in International Studies.  The major offers advanced studies of economics, history, and political science to enhance students’ awareness of the wide range of global issues which transcend national and regional boundaries.  The goal is to give students the expanse of knowledge which transcends international borders.

In the new millennium, many students want to actively participate in the breakdown of economic and cultural barriers as well as environmental and technological boundaries in this age of globalization.  MSU wants to empower students with the knowledge and skills which will ready them for their new roles in the international community.

The growth of international free trade agreements and the rapid growth of the worldwide “Information Super-highway” demand from the workforce an enhanced awareness and understanding of global issues and cross cultural concerns.  The major in International Studies is specifically designed to provide the student with a general global awareness, and a more specialized understanding of the political, economic, and cultural linkages which are found in the world today.
